Supervisory Position: No Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No Travel Required: Not Required Back to top Duties Incumbent is a member of the Close Protection Unit (CPU) / Ambassador’s Protective Detail (APD). He/she performs various protective security duties, to include driving fully armored vehicles (FAV) for the Chief of Mission (COM), Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), and other VIPs as designated by the Regional Security Office. Incumbent provides security coverage for the COM, DCM, and VIPs and takes the necessary security precautions to ensure their personal safety. Facilitate access to the Embassy during large social and/or official functions at the Embassy which involve VIP’s and the Chief of Mission or Deputy Chief of Mission. The demands of the position require the incumbent to maintain non-standard working hours, including on weekends and holidays, and to provide coverage on short notice. He/she will have no supervisory responsibility and will report directly to the CPU/APD Coordinator and reviewed by an Assistant Regional Security Officer (ARSO). The incumbent must uphold personal and professional conduct in such a way as not to bring discredit upon himself/herself or the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Government. In addition, incumbent shall not initiate discussions with USG Principals involving self-promotion, personal issues or disputes -or the appearance thereof- without specific request by or prior approval of the Regional Security Office (RSO). Back to top Qualifications and Evaluations Requirements: EXPERIENCE: At Least 3 years of full-time driving experience is required. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of all security and emergency procedures, traffic routes and Jordanian driving laws and style is required. General knowledge of airports and other crossings. Must have sufficient knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics to be able to provide driver-level mechanical and basic automotive repair. Good understanding of Embassy organizational structure, sections, and functions. Must have Good working knowledge of security and emergency procedures in order to protect Principals.
